The Sangat of Pune bought the land in earlier years and requested Poojniya Sant Baba Gurdev Singh Jee to build Nanaksar in Pune. Poojniya Baba Jee acceded to the Sangat request to build Gurdwara at Pune. Baba Jee deputed the prominent Ragiis (Monks) of Nanaksar to visit Pune in November 1998 and survey the land for building Gurdwara. Ragiis found the land extremely rocky. Keeping in view the dedication and love from the Sangat, Kirtan at this place was started in the evening of November 11, 1998 after construction of temporary structure. Sangrand was celebrated here on November 16, 1998. The first Pooranmashi was celebrated here on December 3, 1998 as per the direction of Poojniya Baba Jee. Poojniya Baba Jee visited this place for the first time on April 30, 2000 and gave the instruction to lower the height of elevations to make it easily approachable by Sikh Sangat of the area. The removal of stones initiated on November 30, 2001 on the occasion of Gurpurab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Jee. The local Sikh Sangat is making efforts to comply with the requirements of local Government which shall be completed in due course and construction of new building of Gurdwara shall be started. However the regular Kirtan is performed at this place since November 1998. Pooranmashi is celebrated every month in the evening, in which Sangat from all over participate and listen to Sri Akhand Paths of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee followed by Katha and Kirtan. Administration of Amrit take place on the request of Sikh Sangat on suitable dates and time.
